The Paisley pattern, originally Boteh (meaning "bush" in Persian) and also known as the "Kashmir" pattern, is an Iranian motif shaped like a curved teardrop or a stylized cypress leaf. Richly ornamented, it evokes fertility and eternity. Adopted by English dandies in the 19th century, it was revived by the hippies, fascinated by the mystical Orient, transcending cultures and styles, beyond fleeting trends. Delicately reinterpreted by Nepalese artisans, it graces our first design in collaboration with the cashmere brand Naram.
