From an early age, travel was an integral part of Rosa’s life. Her mother, an architect, worked regularly in Kenya and often took her along, introducing her to a culture she would grow to love deeply. This early influence shaped Rosa’s appreciation for materials, colours and craftsmanship, blending naturally with the elegance of her Milanese roots.
Here, she shares some of her favourite addresses in Nairobi.
Nairobi through Rosa’s eyes
"A city of contrasts, Nairobi is incredibly green thanks to places like Karura Forest, yet notorious for its traffic. It is truly the economic heart of Kenya.
A friendly piece of advice: avoid travelling on the last day of the month, especially if it falls on a Friday—you may find yourself spending hours in traffic.
I usually come here for work rather than safaris 😉, but I highly recommend five-star guide Alex Hunter, a member of Royal African Safaris.
I enjoy staying at the Norfolk Hotel, wonderfully old-world and located in the heart of the city. For something more intimate, I love Hob House near Kitisuru. With only seven rooms, it is incredibly charming and a haven for food lovers.
Between meetings, I always make time to stop by House of Treasures Emporium and Langata Link Shops, where I enjoy browsing the beautiful boutiques and having lunch at Tin Roof Café in its lovely setting.
My latest discovery is Jua by Agar, a brand producing 100% natural creams and oils. My favourite is their Body Butter, which you can find at Village Market—another Nairobi destination not to be missed."
