Llama Wool Sweater, Argentina

Born from an encounter in the village of Tilcara, in Northern Argentina, the Andinos capsule brings together a selection of llama wool sweaters, created with artisans from the Quebrada de Humahuaca region, who belong to weaving networks that have been active for some thirty years.

Each piece tells a story: the wool is hand-spun and then woven on a telar, the traditional loom inherited from Andean civilizations, and dyed with natural pigments (plants, seeds, local minerals.. ) that give it the ochre, brick and earth tones so characteristic of the Puna landscape. The geometric motifs are never left to chance: diamonds and zigzags symbolize balance in the Andean world, stripes evoke pathways and the connection to the land, and each community has its own codes, passed down from mother to daughter for generations.

A collection made under a fair-trade approach, allowing these artisans to earn a living from their ancestral craftsmanship while passing it on.
