Craving South America… 🌍😍

February sometimes has that slightly grey feel… and this year, it makes me long for South America: the Carioca carnival , Peruvian ponchos in a thousand colours, the Argentinian pampas as far as the eye can see…

Was it Bad Bunny's fault and his fiery Super Bowl performance? Who knows…

In any case, the story of Adriana, the Colombian traveler, and her magnificent colorful bags arrives at just the right time. Not to mention my selection of exhibitions and other Parisian suggestions which I hope you'll enjoy.

Portrait of a Traveler: Adriana, a Colombian in love with Japan

Born in Bogotá, Adriana spent her youth between Colombia and France, where she completed her studies before pursuing a career in the luxury industry in the United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan and then Japan.

It was in Japan, the country she holds dear, deeply influenced by the Japanese appreciation for beautiful things and their meticulous attention to detail, that she felt the desire to return to the essentials and reconnect with her roots. Thus, Aaluna was born , a bag brand highlighting Colombian craftsmanship and the invaluable work of the Wayuu communities.

The Wayuu are an indigenous people living on the La Guajira Peninsula, on the border between Colombia and Venezuela. For them, weaving is much more than a craft: it is a skill passed down from generation to generation, marking the passage to adulthood for young girls. Today, they are known for their Wayuu mochilas , handwoven bags with geometric patterns and vibrant colors, each combination telling a story or carrying a symbol. It is by working hand in hand with these artisans that Adriana designs bags with unique shapes and patterns. A respectful and creative collaboration that celebrates their expertise while providing concrete support to these communities.

The XL Shopping tote is my favorite because of its vibrant colors. The small bucket bag is perfect for any occasion, and the shoulder strap is easily adjustable with its buckle… The navy and beige Shopping bag, graphic and chic, is more versatile. To each their own style

Adriana and Tokyo:

"There is a more traditional Tokyo, a gastronomic Tokyo, a crazy Tokyo, there is even a biker Tokyo! This megalopolis is an inexhaustible source of wonder and respect.

She shaped my vision of beauty and quality work, values that I cherish and that are at the heart of Aaluna's identity."

My suggestions for the month

An exhibition : Martin Parr's "Global Warning" at the Jeu de Paume museum is a true visual shock, with vibrant and graphic images. But beyond the energy and humor of his photos, Martin Parr invites us to question our way of traveling today. He shows how iconic monuments are gradually transforming into mere postcard backdrops. As if travel only truly matters if it's recorded. A real travel lesson, inviting us to slow down and take the time to truly look… I promise, I've taken good note of it!

A restaurant : It's not new but I was introduced to it very recently and I loved it, the Tempête restaurant , Cour des Petites Ecuries in the 10th arrondissement, a contemporary wine bar atmosphere with a New York feel, with its subdued and lively ambiance and its original and refined sharing plates.

A book : The Guardian of Tehran by Stéphanie Perez . The kind of novel you read almost in one sitting, because it gives you a deeper understanding of the country's history, far removed from the fleeting images of television news. In the current context, with everything the Iranian people are going through, this book resonates even more powerfully.

A cult item I love : Virgin Atlantic is re-releasing the iconic sweatshirt worn by Lady Diana in the 90s! This piece has become a symbol of the princess's free and modern style (so "Voyageuses") and has entered pop culture. It's available on their website , and a portion of the profits goes to causes close to her heart. A must-have!

My favorite moment of the Olympics!

As with the Summer 2024 Olympics, I have a huge crush on Mongolia's Olympic outfits for Milano Cortina 2026, inspired by the great Mongol Empire and reinterpreting the deel, the country's traditional garment, with such a contemporary look.

Designed by Goyol Cashmere, they showcase Mongolian cashmere with touches of silk and embroidery, showcasing national craftsmanship. What a brilliant idea to transform the Olympic ceremony into a cultural statement on the world stage!

See you soon!
